Our Awards & Publications Journey So Far
Every award and every published image represents a family who trusted us with one of the most meaningful chapters of their lives — so when we sat down to put together a video looking back at Manawa's award and publication journey, it turned into something far more personal than we expected.
Why Recognition Matters to Us
We'll be honest — awards were never the goal when we picked up a camera. The goal has always been the same one thing: creating images that make a family's breath catch when they see them for the first time. But international recognition and feature publications have become a meaningful way of confirming that the work we're doing genuinely stands out, and that other photographers and editors — not just proud parents — see the same thing we do in these images.
Being featured and recognised has also opened doors that let us keep raising the bar: access to international competitions, connections with other award-winning photographers, and honest feedback from judges that has shaped how we approach every session since.
A Thank You
None of this happens without the families who said yes to being photographed, often in their most vulnerable and tender moments — heavily pregnant, exhausted with a five-day-old newborn, or simply trying to wrangle three kids into one photo. Every award on our wall is really a reflection of the trust those families placed in us.

Frequently asked...
What kind of awards has Manawa received?
Manawa has received international recognition across maternity and newborn photography categories, alongside features in industry publications. The full breakdown is available on our Recognitions & Publications page.
Does an award-winning photographer cost more?
Not necessarily — pricing is based on the session and products you choose, not on accolades. You can see full, transparent pricing on our Services page.
Why does photography recognition matter for choosing a photographer?
Awards and publications are judged by other highly professional photographers and editors, which gives you an independent measure of quality and consistency beyond client reviews alone.
